There will be times when you’ll want to know the name of a specific herb, weed, tree, or flower. There’s always the internet, but if the plant has no unique traits, identifying its species might be tricky.
Apps for plant ID are important tools for gardeners and not just, but also for anybody interested in gardening. You may use them as a guide while you’re out in the wild. And you’ll be able to know edible plants from poisonous ones.

PlantNet is a free app that allows you to identify plants just by taking a picture of them with your phone.
That’s all there is to it. Take a snapshot with your phone or upload an image from your gallery. And find out the name of that particular plant in a matter of seconds.

LeafSnap
A second fantastic app for plant recognition is LeafSnap.
Each plant’s name may be easily found using this app’s easy layout.
A description of LeafSnap says it can recognize roughly 90 percent of all known plant and tree types.
There are some parallels between this software and PlantNet and PlantSnap, thus, LeafSnap is a mix of both.

Also, PlantSnap is able to recognize a wide range of plants in a blink of an eye thanks to a massive plant database and AI.

If you’re wondering what Google Lens has to do with identifying plants, you’ve come to the right place!
The reason I’ve included Google Lens at the top of the list of my favorite smartphone apps for recognizing plants is due to many factors.
Almost everyone who has a smartphone running Android OS already has Google Lens installed. If you don’t have it, you can easily get it from Google Play.
Developed by Google, Google Lens is a mobile phone app. In terms of photo features, this app has a lot to offer, but we’re more interested in its plant detection function.
Flora Incognita
You can quickly and reliably identify plants in Central Europe using photos captured with your cell phone, thanks to Flora Incognita.
If you are trying to identify plants in your yard or around your house, this app might not be the best choice for you.
They created flora Incognita for the ID of wild plants, not for the breeding and crossover of the garden and indoor plants, as mentioned in the app’s description.

Set up an Android emulator
Configuring an Android emulator to run Android 12 is a great solution forexploring new features and APIs and testing Android 12 behavior changes. Settingup an emulator is fast and convenient and allows you to emulate various screensites and device characteristics.
You can set up an emulator from inside Android Studio by doing the following:
- Install the latest Preview build of Android Studio.
- In Android Studio, click Tools > SDK Manager.
- In the SDK Tools tab, select the latest version of Android Emulator,and click OK. This action installs the latest version if it isn'talready installed.
In Android Studio, click Tools > AVD Manager, and follow theinstructions to create a new Android Virtual Device (AVD).
Be sure to select a Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a, or 5 device definition and a64-bit Android 12 emulator system image. Note that 32-bit Android emulatorsystem images are not supported in Android 12. If you don't already havean Android 12 system image installed that matches your device definition,click Download next to the Release Name to get it.
Return to the list of virtual devices in the AVD Manager, and thendouble-click your Android 12 virtual device to launch it.
