You also implement a callback procedure for the button that inserts a company name into the document. Create the customization file in any text editor and save the file with the name customUI.xml. Oct 26, 2020 To access the ribbon customization interface, all you have to do is right-click on any blank part of the ribbon then select Customize the Ribbon. You’ll see this window: Here you’ll see two columns. On the left, we have the commands that can be added to ribbon tabs and groups.

- Instructions for modifying icons in the ribbon customizations made through Word, itself, are given at the bottom of the page Modify QAT Ribbon Button Icon Text. Here is a downloadable document from Microsoft that gives the names of available icons. As you may be able to tell, this is a work in progress.
Exporting ribbon customizations
To export ribbon customization settings, do the following:
1. Open the Microsoft Office application Optionsdialog box by doing one of the following:
- On the File tab, click Options:
In the *** Options dialog box, select the Customize Ribbon tab:
- Right-click any button on the ribbon and choose Customize the Ribbon...:
2. In the bottom right side, click theImport/Export button:
3. Form the Import/Export dropdown list, selectExport all customizations:
4. In the File Save dialog box:
- Type the filename and location if needed. You can save the file to a USB flashdrive or a network location that is accessible on both PCs/laptops.
- Click Save.
5. Click OK to close the *** Options dialog box.
Importing ribbon customizations
Note: The importing customizations will wipe out any customization settingsof the new environment, so make sure there are no customizations that you want to keep,or you can’t reproduce.
To import customization from the file, do the following:
1. Open the Microsoft Office application Optionsdialog box.
2. In the bottom right side, click theImport/Export button.
3. From the Import/Export dropdown list, selectImport all customizations:
4. Select the customization file and click Open.

6. Click OK to close the *** Options dialog box.
